How to Capture Frames in 3GP videos using FVI

What is the 3gp format?

You have a 3G phone and you have 3gp videos, what can you do? well, 3gp formats are widely used in 3G mobile devices for playing videos, but it could also play 2G and 4G phones. It is a multimedia container format produced by Third Generation Partnership (3GPP). 3GP is a simplified version of the MP4 format, which have reduced the requirements of storage space for G’Phone’s. A lowered bandwidth to make full use of the mobile phone’s limited storage space and capacity.

When transferred to a computer, 3GP movies and playbacks can be viewed on Linux, Mac, and Windows platforms. It can be opened with VLC media player, Media Player Classic, RealPlayerQuickTime, and GOM Player can also be used. For you to open 3gp formats in Windows Media Player, you must have proper codecs installed here.

Requirements:

  • You must have either the FFdshow direct codec pack which is here, if you have the latest FVI, it will prompt you to download the codec to support other video codecs as well.
  • Or the K-lite codec pack, Choose the Full Version and install.
