Windows 7, codecs and video frame capture

The number one problem I get from people trying to use Fast video indexer is some type of codec related issue. When they finally install the codec they need for the video file everything usually works fine. It used to be so that if windows media player could play a video it could be captured with Fast video indexer. But, in Windows 7 this might no longer be true. I personally discovered this when I got myself a new laptop computer. Windows 7 and windows media player has a number of build in codecs for mp4 that are not...

Today I will upload the 1.21 version of Fast video indexer.  I have been playing around a bit with the template function in the program. This is an extremely powerful feature that you really should try if you haven’t. It’s not that hard to change the current templates to generate web pages that blends perfectly into your web site. I have made one small change in 1.21 that will make it much easier to creating html  templates.  Before only the data folder was copied and not folders in the data folder. In 1.21 the folder structure is kept. This...

The next version of Fast Video Indexer

June 7, 2010

I have finally started work on the next major update of the Fast video indexer software. For the last 2 years I have only done minor changes to the software, more in the line of bugfixes and I have implemented a few ideas from users. This has been good i think as I have been able to improve the core of the program, the actual video indexing part. But, so far I have gotten two major complains that I hope to fix with the next major update. First of all people people are complaining about the user interface so...
